Salesforce and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have joined forces to help businesses innovate faster and create seamless customer experiences. By combining the power of Salesforce’s CRM solutions with AWS’s cloud capabilities, organizations can now build and deploy apps with greater ease, integrate advanced AWS services directly into their Salesforce environment, and connect workflows across platforms securely.
This partnership opens up new possibilities for businesses looking to streamline their operations. With pre-built applications linking Salesforce Customer 360 with AWS’s cloud offerings, companies can quickly integrate features like voice, video, and AI services into their Salesforce applications, enabling more innovative, efficient workflows.
Salesforce, a leader in customer relationship management (CRM), and AWS, the global leader in cloud infrastructure, have made it easier than ever for businesses to harness customer data for faster innovation. By combining real-time customer insights with cloud capabilities, organizations can build more personalized experiences and make data-driven decisions quicker than before.
As part of the expanded partnership, Salesforce has earned the AWS DevOps Competency and is recognized as an Advanced Technology Partner within the AWS Partner Network (APN). These milestones highlight how both platforms enhance each other’s capabilities, helping businesses unlock more value from their customer data and improve their overall business performance.
Companies can differentiate their customer experiences by leveraging powerful data analytics and machine learning techniques with this deeper integration. They can synchronize data from multiple sources in real time, gaining valuable insights that help them stay ahead of the competition.
Essential tools in this integration include Amazon S3 for cost-effective data storage, AWS Lambda for event-driven computing, and Amazon Athena for robust, SQL-based data analysis on data stored in Amazon S3. AWS PrivateLink also allows businesses to connect applications and services securely within their virtual private cloud (VPC), ensuring smooth and secure data flows between Salesforce and AWS.
This collaboration between Salesforce and AWS makes it easier for organizations to innovate, enhance customer relationships, and transform their business through the power of integrated data and cloud technologies.
Go to the Amazon Connect Console.
On the Instances page, choose the instance alias. This is the same as the instance name found in your Amazon Connect URL.
Click on Tasks, then select Add an Application.
From the Select application dropdown, choose Salesforce.
Review the requirements for the Salesforce application, as outlined on the Select application page.
To ensure Salesforce is compatible with Amazon AppFlow, log into Salesforce by visiting HTTPS://[instance_name].my.salesforce.com.
On the Select application page, click Next after verifying the requirements for Salesforce.
Next, on the Establish connection page, choose one of the following options:
Use an Existing Connection: Select this option to reuse an existing EventBridge connection associated with Amazon AppFlow flows in your AWS account.
Create a New Connection: To set up a new connection, complete the required fields for the external application:
Enter the URL for your application's instance. This URL links directly to the tasks you've created in the external app.
Assign a friendly name to your connection, such as Salesforce – Test instance. You’ll reference this name when setting up rules later.
Specify whether you're working in a production or sandbox environment.
Choose Salesforce Login to proceed.
Allow access to the Amazon Connect Salesforce Integration Embedded Login App [Region].
Visit Salesforce and confirm that the updated token policy for the Amazon Connect Salesforce Embedded Login App is set to Refresh token and is valid until revoked. This ensures that Amazon Connect can successfully connect with Salesforce and that Amazon AppFlow will have ongoing access without needing to re-authenticate.
Check the box in the image below and click Next on the Establish Connection page.
Verify that the connection status is Connected on the Review and Integrate page. Then, select Complete Integration.
The new connection will now be listed on the Tasks page.
Numerous pre-built service integrations have been created thanks to the strategic partnership between Amazon Connect and Salesforce. These integrations help businesses engage more effectively with their customers while reducing the time, complexity, and risks of implementing new technologies.
The Salesforce and AWS integration enables seamless data sharing between the two platforms, driving greater efficiency in business operations. By merging customer data with operational applications, businesses can save valuable time and effort. This integration also reduces infrastructure costs by centralizing data in the cloud, eliminating the need for heavy investments in physical infrastructure and making maintenance simpler. Furthermore, it allows employees to work remotely from anywhere, enhancing flexibility.
Flexibility is crucial in today’s fast-paced business environment. The Salesforce AWS integration enhances this by enabling businesses to adapt to changing needs quickly. By combining the strengths of both platforms, businesses can push existing capabilities even further, streamline workflows, reduce redundancies, and improve overall return on investment (ROI).
With the integration of AWS Salesforce and ‘Alexa for Business,’ you can now leverage voice technology to interact with your Salesforce applications. Employees can ask natural language questions to Alexa and receive relevant Salesforce data from any Alexa-enabled device. Additionally, Salesforce's private skills can be developed for internal use, ensuring only authorized employees can access critical business data. This feature helps personalize and scale the customer experience.
Building powerful applications quickly becomes much easier with the right tools and integrated customer data. Salesforce Heroku provides a cloud-native, developer-friendly platform for creating applications, empowering developers to focus on building customer-centric solutions. By unifying previously siloed data and removing infrastructure management overhead, businesses can bring innovative applications to market faster.
The Internet of Things (IoT) offers significant potential, but extracting meaningful value from IoT devices requires intelligent data integration. Salesforce AWS integration allows businesses to securely connect IoT devices to their CRM and automate responses based on specific events. This reduces operational costs and increases revenue by enabling enterprises to contextualize device data—such as how products are being used and who is interacting with them.
With Salesforce, businesses can deliver exceptional customer service on a global scale. The integration of Salesforce Service Cloud enables contact center operators to create customized, dynamic customer experiences using valuable data like past purchases, customer preferences, and interaction history. This insight lets businesses predict customer needs and provide proactive solutions, often before customers ask.
Empower your marketing, sales, and customer service teams with advanced Einstein Analytics applications directly within Salesforce. This integration enhances every customer interaction, providing teams with intelligent insights that drive more thoughtful decision-making. The combination of these analytics applications with Amazon Redshift, a fast and scalable data warehouse, supports the rapid growth of customer data and helps break down data silos across your organization.
One of the most significant advantages of integrating Salesforce with Amazon Redshift is eliminating the need for IT resources to build and maintain custom connections between Salesforce applications and the data warehouse. This streamlines operations, reduces complexity, and saves valuable time, allowing your team to focus on using the data instead of managing infrastructure.
A standout feature of the Salesforce and AWS integration is Private Connect, which ensures a unified, secure connection between Salesforce and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Many businesses use AWS as their cloud layer and Salesforce as their application layer, and with Private Connect, these layers are seamlessly linked for secure, private communication.
By connecting Salesforce's first-party data centers with AWS regions, Private Connect ensures that your HTTP/s traffic can be routed securely through your organization, protecting it from public internet threats. This creates a safer, more efficient data flow between your Salesforce applications and the stored AWS data, enhancing security and performance.
